WALLPAPERS

1024 ------ 800
This wallpaper is a very simple one, made thanks to usage of patterns and brushes to fill empty areas. The featured character is Puchiko from the anime Digi Charat. The bright colors fit the character pretty well, and in general they underline the cuteness of it. Definitely, not one of the most complicated wallpapers I've done.

1024 ------ 800
Roronoa Zoro is one of my anime obsessions. I haven't made many wallpapers featuring the charming swordsman of One Piece series though. For this work, I used a fanart from unknown artist. The oriental look is expressed also by the red dragon and by the ideograms brushes. I quite like the final result.

1024 ------ 800
Our favourite swordsman, Zoro, again! Doesn't he look awesome? Don't say no, or I'll kill you! I must thank once again the same unknown author for the fanart ^^; Sepia toning and ancient looking brushes used to make the image and the map in the background look more dusty and old. This wallpaper was fun to make.

1024 ------ 800
This wallpaper was used for the first "official" layout of my blog. It features a scan of Sanji from One Piece manga and a scan of Gotham City from Batman comic. Quote from some Humprey Bogart's movie I can't remember at this moment -.-;

1024
I spent hours and hours for this Rei wallpaper, since the sexy image of the blue-haired Eva pilot was all jaggy. I had to recolour the whole thing, to make it look smooth and bright again. This happens when you cannot find decent pics on the web... The result is quite good, in my opinion, but this far from being one of my fave wallpapers.

800
Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. Not much to say about this one: I was bored, I wanted to make something which somewhat was suitable for my springtime-addiction mood. It's a very simple and clean layout, and Faye looks nice among flowery fonts =P

1024 ------ 800
Luke Skywalker, from Star Wars. It's a shameless mix between Episode V and Episode VI. The hardest thing was making the lightsaber (to be honest it's pretty easy to make, but I suck at these things...). Image of the carbon chamber obtained thanks to some pre-made 3D Studio Max models. I only had to fix the colour a bit and the lights position...

1024 ------ 800
As the other Star Wars wallpaper, this also uses 3D Studio Max models of Death Star corridor and Darth Vader. I wanted to make the corridor look red, because it was cooler with the red lightsaber's glow (yes, my creation too! aha, a lot better than the green Luke Skywalker's lightsaber! I'm improving!). The result is gloomy and very Vader-ish!

1024 ------ 800
Wallpaper featuring the beautiful Maria, enigmatic character from the game Silent Hill 2. Rusty dark style and lots of nostalgia. Quote from Joy Division/New Order's song In a lonely place.

800
The original idea was to make Lisa Garland, sweet nurse from survival horror game Silent Hill, look like trapped in a cage, and to suggest the idea of her loneliness at the same time. The final result is a bit different from what I was expecting, but still I find it pretty suitable for the tragic character of Lisa. Quote from Atmosphere by Joy Division.

1024 ------ 800
Homunculus from Shadow of Destiny is another of these mysterious, enigmatic characters I like in videogames. His androgynous appearance is another of his qualities. This is probably one of my best wallpapers, at least for my personal taste. I like the antique look and the colours of it. This was originally used as a layout for my blog. Quote from Alexandros, poem by Giovanni Pascoli (god only knows why I picked it...).

1024 ------ 800
I'm not a Grand Theft Auto fan. This means I'm not particularly fond of Vice City either. The game is entertaining and addictive, but it's not among the games I like the most. This, together with the other three Vice City wallpapers, was made especially for Ps2Fantasy.com.

1024 ------ 800
Same here: Vice City wallpaper, with usage of layers styles, filters and patterns. Nothing particularly interesting, but quite useful if you like Grand Theft Auto, considering there aren't many GTA wallpapers around the web.

1024 ------ 800
Tommy Vercetti from Vice City, again. This is my fave wallpaper among the Vice City ones. It required me more time than the other three to make, and the pixelated look fits pretty well the 80s retro style of the game.

1024 ------ 800
Last of the boring Vice City wallpapers. The one I like less. Must be the colour of it, or the motorcycle... I don't know! Massive usage of filters.

800
No idea where I got the idea for this wallpaper. Looks pretty odd to me, but the Japanese kids are cute, aren't they? Blood and dirty stains add the "creepy" touch to my interpretation of the average little boy's life. Poor him...

1024 ------ 800
This is probably the worst wallpaper I have ever made. Just random photos from Japanese metropolitan areas, lots of city lights and lack of ideas. The title Uninspired says it all.

800
One of the first wallpapers I made. James Dean as pop icon, filming the passing of time. Someone (I think it was Bazin) said films, as mirrors, are constatly showing "la Mort au travail", the action of time decomposing the essence of life, day by day. Quote from anonymous ancient Greek poet, which can be translated as "After my death, may earth and fire be mixed".

800
Random wallpaper. Trying to make traditional themes of Japanese culture look modern. I wanted this wallpaper to be "warm" and nostalgic at the same time. Quote from lines I have written myself. Nothing interesting. Note to the self (referring to Japanese symbols): I shouldn't be making attempts at writing in languages I don't know...

1024 ------ 800
First of my Richey Edwards wallpapers, made for the fanlisting about him I'm running. Close up of his beautiful face, partly ruined by the terrible choice of the colour (blue... it just doesn't fit him at all!). Since I'm mainly making red/sepia wallpapers, I wanted to try something different. What a failure... Still worth looking at for Richey's face.

1024 ------ 800
It's him again: Richey James Edwards from Manic Street Preachers in one famous shot. Photo massively edited to make it look decayed and dirty. I quite like the final result, especially the idea for the reflection. The two identical images were treated in different ways, but still the mirror's theme is evident. Title of the wallpaper False Mirrors taken from a line of the song Faster.

1024 ------ 800
This one is a very dark and gloomy wallpaper, but also really simple. Contrasts black/white, with a touch of violet and purple. Windows, like mirrors, are fascinating. I was lucky to have this excellent shot, since it shows the interesting struggle of geometric lines against the beauty of Richey's feminine figure. Definitely a very good photo to work with. Quote from the song Little Baby Nothing by Manic Street Preachers.

1024 ------ 800
First try at vectorial art. I wanted this wallpaper to look like one of those powerful soviet posters, with slogans and clean shapes. Basic usage of colors (black, white, red, pink) to underline every single detail's importance. Quotes from Vladimir Mayakovsky's poem But could you? (this being the translated title) which reads "I blurred at once the chart of trite routine/by splashing paint with one swift motion". Other minor quote from the book American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis.

1024 ------ 800
Very basic wallpaper using grids and layers styles featuring everybody's favourite crossdressing Welshman Nicky Wire from the Manics. Looking at him always succeeds in making me terribly envious *sigh* Shot by Japanese photographer Mitch Ikeda.

1024 ------ 800
Wallpaper featuring Gigolo Joe (aka Jude Law), from the movie A.I.. Quote from the same movie. Lots and lots of effects to underline the "robotical" aspect of Joe's personality. Still, the humanity of the character is evident thanks to the intense expressiveness of the eyes and to the little teardrop.

800
Another wallpaper focused on the ambivalence of Gigolo Joe's character (robot vs human). I don't like this one very much, mainly because I think it looks too "plain".

1024 ------ 800
Meg White from The White Stripes. She's just too pretty! Since there are so many stylish pieces of artwork about her around, I've tried the decayed dusty/rusty style for her too. It doesn't fit the music of the band, but it fits her delicate beauty. Quote from William Blake's poem The Divine Image.
